Israel Is Not Cast Away – Romans 11:1-4 NASB1995
“1 I say then, God has not rejected His people, has He? May it never be! For I too am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. 2 God has not rejected His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel? 3 “Lord, they have killed Your prophets, they have torn down Your altars, and I alone am left, and they are seeking my life.”” – Romans 11:1-4 NASB1995
EIGHT (8) Principles of Dispensational Hermeneutics:
Dispensational: A theological system that interprets the Bible literally, distinguishes Israel and the Church, and recognizes seven dispensations in God’s plan.
Hermeneutics: A study of the principles and methods of interpreting the text of the Bible. Second Timothy 2:15 commands believers to be involved in hermeneutics: “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who . . . correctly handles the word of truth.”
- 1. Our task is to discover what the original author meant, rather than force the text to fit our beliefs.
- 2. Interpretation mus progress FORWARD from the Old Testament, not backward from the New Testament.
- 3. The progression of revelation does not reinterpret the meaning of earlier prophecies. It builds on what the prophets already revealed.
- 4. The primary theme of the Bible is not only individual salvation, but the KINGDOM of God.
- 5. We believe all the tangible, material, and national promises of the COVENANTS will be fulfilled.
- 6. JUDGING false prophets requires a literal interpretation.
- 7. There is an ETHICAL component to promises.
- 8. Prophecies that have come to pass have bee fulfilled exactly as they were written.
