Bible Survey Lesson 28: “Introduction to the Prophetic Books”

Overview: Major Prophets, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, & Daniel
The “Major Prophets” in the Old Testament are Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel. They are called “major” because their books are longer, and they contain significant prophecies and messages from God.

Overview: Minor Prophets, HOSEA – MALACHI (“The 12“)
The Minor Prophets is a collection of twelve (12) Old Testament books, known simply as “the Twelve” or “the Book of the Twelve” in the Hebrew Bible. The title “minor” refers to length, not significance. Roughly in chronological order, each of these short books gives a glimpse into the spiritual landscape and history of Israel, challenging the status quo through prophets called to speak on God’s behalf.
The 12-books at the end of the Old Testament are known as “the Minor Prophets”. Reading these books, though often-overlooked, understand with a little learning of the context, how relevant and timely these 12-books’ messages still are to believers today.
